Passionate and enthusiastic illustrator, designer of decorative cushions, cards and rings from Tilburg, The Netherlands.
During my years at Natuurmuseum Brabant as a designer, I gained experience in the field of graphic, spatial and illustrative design. I was mainly concerned with designing / designing children's exhibitions and then also gained experience with drawing animals and nature. I enjoyed working there for many years and the work was very varied. Unfortunately, that came to an end due to spending cuts.
Then I started my own company ZonjeeOntwerp and initially worked primarily for educational publishers such as Malmberg, Edu'Actief, and Bekadidact. In that period I discovered that my heart is the most with drawing and making clear colorful images.
As I also needed to do something entirely for myself, I started designing postcards with images of my own drawings of cats, and later also dogs and birds that I sold in my web shop KISKOES. This gave rise to the idea of turning the images into decorative pillows. Velvet cushions that I now sell all over the world.
Because I have always been interested in color, how it works, what it means, and how it affects people and the environment, I followed the Color / Color Advice course at the Dutch Color School. And I can now use and apply that knowledge again.
I spend a lot of time at the computer, therefore I now feel like taking up portrait painting again in addition to my freelance work. Being physically busy again with paint and canvas, as I have done in the past. Moreover, I always get a resemblance to the subject to be painted (person or animal). For more information, look under the commissioned portrait heading.
